Coro Vivo Ottawa is a vibrant, friendly, community choir of approximately 70 in number, attracting members from across the National Capital Region. We have just celebrated our 25th Anniversary. We perform two to three major concerts per year and sing an eclectic repertoire. This ranges from classical works such as Brahms Requiem, Haydn Lord Nelson Mass and the Rutter Gloria, through Opera choruses, music from Broadway shows, and Folk music from around the world. We hire professional musicians and soloists for major performances.
We rehearse one evening per week; Tuesday evening at Orleans United Church, and one Saturday per month at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Each rehearsal session lasts for three hours. Our season starts in September and runs through May.
Coro Vivo is strongly committed to the community. For more information on our community involvement, visit our Community Involvement page.
Literally translated, Coro Vivo means "lively choir". While fitting, perhaps even more appropriate would be "joyous choir". We enjoy singing together and the ongoing challenge of singing better.
